Field announces organizational changes and renewed direction

181023 - Operational Updates

Field leadership has announced changes to the company's organizational structure and a renewed focus on core products and services.

Tore Gjedebo accepted the position of Board Chair after almost six years on the Field Board. Tore is a major investor in Field Group with 25 years of investment experience in startups, scaleups, and sponsoring investment companies.

Outgoing Chair Arild Austigard has decided to step down for personal reasons after six years on the Board as Chair. We thank Arild for his significant contribution to the company, his energy and enthusiasm for the business, and all the hours he has put in. Field would not be where it is today without his generous effort and support.

Krister A. Pedersen has accepted the position as interim CEO after Cato Vevatne stepped down earlier this week. The move was a mutual decision between Cato and the Field Board, explained Tore Gjedebo.

"Cato is a visionary leader with bold ideas and an ability to think outside the box. In just a few years, he has built a company much bigger and more far-reaching than I could have even considered. However, we agree that new leadership is needed to support our renewed direction," he said.

Krister A. Pedersen has over 20 years of corporate experience across public and private companies, including Komplett Group, XXL ASA, Apotek 1 Gruppen, and OBOS. Krister will drive a renewed focus on Field's core products and services, scaling back some international expansion plans.

"Right now, our focus is to continue strengthening our core services and products and return to profitability. However, Field has developed some exciting product inventions for future growth, and we will be excited to see these in the market. Research and development projects with a longer runway to the market will be put on hold. The most important thing now is to be profitable and to secure the balance sheet," said Mr. Pedersen.

Part of this strategy involves pausing selected research and development projects, which means up to ten full-time positions and several contract positions, predominantly in the research and development and administration teams, have been made temporarily redundant.

"Due to pausing some research projects, we have temporarily laid off some contract and permanent team members. It is important to clarify that these people are an important part of our team, and we will reinstate them as soon as we restart these projects," said Mr. Pedersen.

"Our core business operations remain the same, with our skilled and experienced people providing the same high-quality service they have always done. We will continue to deliver all project work uninterrupted," he said.

As interim CEO, Krister A. Pedersen is supported by the Field Board and a dedicated and experienced leadership team.
