Field’s geospatial business has a revitalized sense of optimism and excitement for the future under new ownership.

Norwegian investment company DSD and a group of management have acquired Field’s geospatial business, which will continue to operate under the Field brand. The business offers a full range of geospatial services, including aerial surveying, mapping, modeling, land surveying, mobile mapping, geophysics, and land and property consulting.

Field’s UAV business has been acquired by a group of investors, including the family office of the former chair of the board at Field, Arild Austigard. It will operate under a new brand: Stellaire. The acquisitions secure a complete refinancing of the businesses in a new company structure.

“The separation of services was an amicable and mutual decision, giving the Field geospatial team renewed focus and enthusiasm for the future. We’re excited to start 2024 and embrace all the possibilities that new ownership will bring,” says Field's Executive Vice President, Mikko Salonen.

“While some things have changed, it’s mainly business as usual. We operate under the same brand, have the same employees, and the same core leadership team committed to delivering the best results for our clients.”

“We’ve been working on some of the most exciting and important projects across the Nordics and beyond, and we hope to continue the trend this year. We look forward to helping our clients shape safer, more efficient, and sustainable infrastructure for many years to come,” he continues.

Existing Field shareholder DSD has become the majority owner. Founded in 1855, family-owned DSD AS has been a co-owner of Field since the end of 2021 and focuses on ownership in technological and sustainable companies.

“DSD understands and believes in our dedicated and skilled people and the value we offer. They bring focus and stability to the company and support our vision. With the new structure, it will be easier to focus on delivering the highest quality products and services to the core business. We’ll be at the forefront in both developing and using technology and having the best people in the business," says Field CEO Krister Pedersen.

“While Field’s former UAV business now operates in a separate company, we continue our trusted relationship with the team, and we look forward to partnering with them on future projects,” said Mr. Pedersen.

Field’s geospatial business comprises geospatial operations in Norway, Field Aviation, Field Finland, Field Estonia, Field Data Spain, and Field Sweden. It will trade under Field Geospatial AS with company number 832436542.
